Hey folks,
We hope you’ve been enjoying your time playing DOOM! It’s been less than a month since launch, but the team at id Software has been hard at work preparing to deploy DOOM’s next game update, which will arrive later this month.
In the meantime, today we are releasing a multiplayer improvement update for DOOM. This includes rebalancing of some multiplayer weapons based on your feedback: the Chaingun, Rocket Launcher, and Combat Shotgun. This update will also reduce the wait time between matches to 60 seconds. Last but not least, Clan Arena and Freeze Tag will now require the winning team to complete 5 rounds in order to win the match. The multiplayer improvement update will begin today at 10:30 ET —this is a server-side update, and will not require a download, though it will require a server outage, which we anticipate will be about an hour. As always, we appreciate your feedback and we hope you’ll continue to let us know your thoughts.
For DOOM’s next game update, we will be releasing the patch notes later this month, which will include several improvements and features. We thought it was important to share some of those improvements with you now:
These are just a few of the improvements and fixes coming later this month, but we wanted to provide an update as soon as we could. Thank you all for your continued support. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We hope you’re enjoying your time in-game and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.

Nice to know you are still working on the game. Any info for single player DLC? Multiplayer FFA, BOTS, Private Match, Server Browser? or Snapmap weapon mods and upgrades?
(in response to JLeavey)
Nice to read this but please..
Add Deathmatch as a gamemode, nerf the chaingun and add a mode where the weapons spawn and you start out with a pistol!
(in response to JLeavey)
Can you list the item and details of weapon has been change?
(in response to JLeavey)
Nice that you are fixing the developer mode thing, I accidentally clicked it and didn't get any achievements and also can't play multiplayer.

What about vulkan support? Official SLI/Crossfire support? Was vulkan only announced as a marketing scheme for the new Nvidia 1080?
(in response to JLeavey)
I'm trying look at the post from all angles, but there really aren't any trace nor word about Vulkan API support. Will it be in this update or very soon after release, means SoonTM?
(in response to JLeavey)
Maybe Nvidia push the strings to get it postponed/canceled, because it show up that current gen ATi/AMD cards have better performance in Vulkan then next-gen NV1080 :-)
BTW: Crossfire support for DooM is already in the Crimson driver, it was introduced in 16.5.2. version. Isn't true, sorry for false hope.
(in response to JLeavey)
Don't spread false information, there is NO Crossfire support for doom. 16.5.2 adds "doom support" which is only a slight increase in performance (then they released 16.5.2.1 to fix issues for R9 390 users), but there's no crossfire support.
Here's the changelog: AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2
Not even the 16.6.1 version (which is 4 days old) has it.

Great to hear it.
Really hoping to see the 2 weapon limit removed from SnapMap.
(in response to JLeavey)
Will the next update contain Vulcan or it it cancelled? OpenGL proves problematic for stuff like recording videos, overlays, etc
(in response to JLeavey)
allow maps which have been locked to dev mode to be published, and the latest tiny update crashes if you have +set com_gamemode 0 in your steams launch properties, and you go to snapmap
everyone uses god to test it after playing the map 10 million times and you just want to test something at the end
(in response to JLeavey)
Please add multiplayer leader boards. there is no way too see how you stack up. please add leader boards!!!
(in response to JLeavey)
Wait, so the pause function for SP snapmap offline is still not being added in? Or did you forget to mention it? At least the other stuff are finally being added in but I hope you guys don't forget about the other issues that need attention in snapmap, but thanks for the update regardless it's much appreciated.
